Expert advice from Dr. Anthony Parisket and team to keep your smile healthy between visits.

Image description

Maintaining good oral health at home is just as important as regular dental visits. Dr. Parisek and our team have compiled these essential tips to help you and your family maintain healthy teeth and gums every day.

Remember, these tips complement, but don't replace, regular professional dental care.

DAILY HABITS

Essential Dental Care Tips

Follow these simple tips every day for a healthier, brighter smile.

DAILY CARE

Brush Twice Daily

Brush your teeth for 2 minutes, twice a day, using fluoride toothpaste. Use gentle circular motions and don't forget your tongue!

DAILY CARE

Floss Every Day

Flossing removes plaque and food particles between your teeth that your toothbrush can't reach. Make it a daily habit before bedtime.

EQUIPMENT

Replace Your Toothbrush

Change your toothbrush every 3-4 months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed. A worn toothbrush won't clean your teeth effectively.

NUTRITION

Eat Tooth-Healthy Foods

Choose calcium-rich foods like cheese, yogurt, and leafy greens. Cunchy fruits and vegetables help clean your teeth naturally.

PREVENTION

Limit Staining Beverages

Coffee, tea, and red wine can stain teeth. Use a straw when possible and rinse with water after consuming these drinks.

PROFESSIONAL CARE

Regular Dental Checkups

Visit us every 6 months for professional cleanings and exams. Prevention is key to maintaining a healthy smile.

EMERGENCY CARE

What to Do in a Dental Emergency

Quick action can save your tooth. Here's what to do before you get to our office.

Toothache

Rinse with warm salt water and take over-the-counter pain medication. Call us immediately if pain persists.

Broken Tooth

Save any pieces, rinse your mouth with warm water, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Contact us right away.

Lost Filling or Crown

Keep the crown if possible, and use dental cement from a pharmacy as a temporary fix. Schedule an appointment ASAP.

Bleeding Gums

Apply gentle pressure with gauze. If bleeding doesn't stop after 10 minutes, or if you have other symptoms, call us.
